VIA Rail
+ My Favorites
VIA Rail is Canada's Rail network. It operates transcontinental service from Vancouver to Halifax, as well as fast commuter, business and leisure service within the Quebéc City-Windsor corridor. There is also service to remote locations in Ontario, Québec, Manitoba and British Columbia. In conjunction with major bus companies, Via Rail offers bus connections from many centres that do not have rail service to the nearest point on the Via network.

Canadian Pacific Railway
+ My Favorites
The Canadian Pacific was build from 1881 to 1885 as the first transcontinental railroad network in Canada linking Montreal to Vancouver. William Cornelius Van Horne was the executive put in charge of completing the monstrous task of linking the country by railway. The efforts of the CPR were pivotal to the colonization of the country in the 19th century. Still in operation today, the CPR is an icon of Canadian nationalism.
