This pretty and short trail is perfect for families. It begins at one exquisite mountain lake - Moraine - and ends at another - Consolation. The forest in between is beautiful, filled with lichen, mushrooms, moss-covered logs, grouseberry and maybe even... grouse. The views include Mt. Temple (the highest peak in the Lake Louise area) and the hanging glacier on Mt. Quadra. Listen and look for ice falls. The area near the lake is also good grizzly bear habitat and the trail may have a warning posted or a restriction requiring hikers to hike in tight groups of six people or more. A warning means that a bear has been frequenting the area regularly. The trail restriction is there to protect both hikers and bears. Be sure to hike bear aware and take precautions to prevent encounters on the trail.
